What else should you know about Acorns' bonuses?
As is common with many brokers, Acorns changes its bonuses regularly. Some bonuses have an expiration date that ends in the middle of the month. You may want to make it a habit to check for bonus updates periodically, especially because you're free to stack one bonus atop another.
Are Acorns' promotions worth it?
If you're already an Acorns investor, referral bonuses are always worth it. Think of it as free investment funds. You can invite as many friends as you like and watch the bonuses stack up. This is especially true when bonus amounts are higher than usual.
Bonuses awarded for opening an account or debit card are only worth it to new Acorns customers or those who don't currently use all account types.

How long you'll wait depends on the type of bonus. Because featured bonuses frequently change, you'll need to check the specific details associated with your bonus. Acorns makes this information easy to find on each of its new offers.
One reason Acorns (and other brokerages) wait to pay bonuses is because some people cancel accounts shortly after opening them. You won't receive a referral bonus if that friend cancels. However, you can always refer the app to another friend (or two).
