3 Amazon Perks You Only Get With the Prime Visa

Most store credit cards aren't that useful, but there are exceptions. The Prime Visa is one of them. It's available exclusively for Prime members, and if you shop at Amazon often, you could save a ton of money with it.

This card has a $0 annual fee, so you can add it to your wallet without paying anything (other than your Prime membership fee). 1. An instant gift card

When you're approved for the Prime Visa, an Amazon gift card is instantly loaded to your account. The gift card amount varies, but it's currently $100. You can use that right away for an Amazon order.

Now, this isn't the largest credit card welcome offer. There are some cash back cards that offer $200 bonuses, and travel credit cards frequently offer bonuses worth even more.

2. Unlimited 5% cash rewards

The Prime Visa earns an unlimited 5% cash rewards on Amazon.com purchases and Amazon Fresh orders. If Amazon is your store of choice for online shopping, and if you order groceries with Amazon Fresh, this is an amazing benefit.

I haven't found any other credit cards that earn an unlimited 5% cash rewards on Amazon. Cards with rotating bonus categories occasionally earn 5% at Amazon for a quarter, but only up to a $1,500 spending cap. With the Prime Visa, you earn that much year-round and with no limit. If you spend $10,000 per year on Amazon, you'd earn $500 back.

With most rewards cards, you get the rewards you've earned after each billing cycle. A billing cycle generally lasts about a month.

The Prime Visa speeds up the process. Your cash rewards are available as soon as the next day on Amazon.com, where you can use them for orders. They're also easy to use. If you've earned $20 in cash rewards, you can apply as much of that as you want to your next Amazon order in a single click.

If you make orders regularly on Amazon, it's nice to be able to use your rewards so quickly. And if not, you can also redeem your rewards at Chase.com for cash back, gift cards, or travel bookings. If you choose that method, you will need to wait longer for your cash back to be available.
