This New Wells Fargo Credit Card Earns 4% Cash Rewards on Pet Supplies

Depending on the size of your pooch, your canine friend could cost you anywhere from $27 to $165 a month. And that's when they're young and healthy. Cats are generally more affordable, but even they can get expensive to maintain in the lifestyle they deserve if they have dietary restrictions or need regular grooming.

Until now, there haven't been any rewards credit cards (that I know of) that could give you consistently high rewards on all of those pet needs. So guess which pet lover was super excited to see the new Wells Fargo Attune℠ Card?

Yep, this one. (And pretty much all of the other ones I know!) Because this awesome new card not only earns 4% cash rewards on pet care, those 4% rewards are unlimited.

Chewy, Petco, and more!

The Wells Fargo Attune℠ Card is a true lifestyle card, with literally dozens of merchant categories that earn 4% cash rewards. The list is understandably long, and it includes everything from craft stores to concerts to campgrounds.

But tucked away in all of those other great categories you'll find these two beauties:

• Pet Shops, Pet Foods, and Supplies Stores
• Other Miscellaneous Services

Anyone who has a pet with a black hole instead of a stomach may find that first one very interesting, since it includes most pet suppliers. And yes, that means Chewy.com and Petco, among others.

Oh, and don't forget about Spot's favorite pet subscription box. Wells Fargo specifically lists Barkbox as an eligible merchant!

Grooming and boarding also included

As exciting as the first bullet point is, don't overlook the second one! "Other miscellaneous services" covers a lot of other very expensive pet care purchases, including grooming, walking, and boarding.

For many folks, boarding a pet is basically a necessary travel expense, but for some reason it's one travel rewards cards never cover. (Super weird.) But since boarding your faithful hound at a kennel can easily cost you an average of $40 a night, it's really exciting to finally be able to maximize this important expense.

And that's before we talk about the vital grooming costs that help keep your long-haired lovebug from turning your berber carpet into a shag rug. Unlimited 4% cash rewards on those vital grooming appointments is a fantastic perk for many pet families.

Rewards are unlimited with no earning cap

I know I may have mentioned this once or twice, but it really bears emphasizing again: There aren't any caps on how many of your purchases earn the 4% cash rewards rate.

Why am I so stuck on this? Because the majority of cards with such high rewards rates put a monthly, quarterly, or annual cap on how many rewards you can earn at that rate. For example, a card might earn 5% back on just the first $1,500 in bonus category purchases each quarter.

This card doesn't do that. And shockingly enough, it doesn't charge an annual fee, either.

Unlimited 4% cash rewards means every million-pound bag of dog food you haul and tower of cat food tins you lug will earn 4%. Each trip to the groomers, each Rover dog-walking appointment, each package of flea pills from Petco -- you never need to worry that the next pet care purchase will earn less just because you hit some arbitrary cap.
