Earn $1,250 Back for Spending $8,000 With This Business Credit Card
KEY POINTS
- The Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card currently has a welcome offer of 100,000 bonus points for spending $8,000 on purchases in the first 3 months.
- If you use those points to book travel through Chase Travel, you'll save $1,250.
- This card also earns bonus points in several popular spending categories, including travel, shipping, and online advertising.
One of the features I love about business credit cards is their welcome offers. These are often much bigger than what you can get with consumer credit cards.
Case in point, the Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card from Chase. It's an excellent business card, especially if you like to travel, and it only has a $95 annual fee. But what sets it apart is the welcome offer -- it's one of the largest I've found, and it could save you $1,250 or more.

The current welcome offer for the Chase Ink Business Preferred
The Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card offers 100,000 bonus points after spending $8,000 on purchases in the first 3 months. That's about $2,670 in spending per month. Make sure you'll be able to spend enough before you apply for this card, so you don't miss out on all those bonus points.
You could use those points to get cash back. If you do that, they're worth $0.01 per point, which means you'll get $1,000 back. Nothing to be disappointed about there.
But this is a travel rewards card, and points are worth more if you use them for travel bookings. To be exact, you'll get 25% more value ($0.0125 per point) on Chase Travel bookings. So, 100,000 bonus points are worth $1,250 in travel.
Another good option is to transfer your points to any of the airline or hotel partners in the Chase Ultimate Rewards program. It's a little more time-consuming, but you could get even more value. For example, I once transferred 145,000 Chase points to Hyatt and used them to book a $5,634 hotel stay in New York. That's a value of nearly $0.04 per point!

More perks of the Chase Ink Business Preferred
Valuable as it is, the welcome offer on this card is a one-time deal. Fortunately, this Chase card has plenty of other longer-term benefits. You'll probably have no trouble earning more bonus points. This card earns 3 points per $1 on your first $150,000 in combined purchases, each account year, across the following categories:
- Travel
- Shipping
- Internet, cable, and phone services
- Advertising purchases through search engines and social media sites
Through March 2025, it also earns 5 points per $1 on Lyft rides. Other purchases earn the standard 1 point per $1.
If you have any employees who make purchases for your business, you can get them set up with employee cards at no additional cost. You'll earn points on purchases they make. And if you don't want anyone else to have full access to your credit limit, you can set up individual spending limits on employee credit cards.
A top business credit card and an amazing welcome offer
I'm a big fan (and a cardholder) of the Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card. The welcome offer is its standout perk, but you'll also be earning bonus points in several popular spending categories. And thanks to Chase's rewards program, you'll have plenty of ways to use those points.
Since there are quite a few business credit cards available, it's always good to compare your options before you pick one. But if you want to earn a large amount of points upfront, from a card with an affordable annual fee, the Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card is tough to beat.
