When choosing a credit card, most people focus on the issuer perks. But many credit cards have perks beyond the rewards or sign-up bonuses. For example, Visa credit cards come with a range of useful benefits that can add a lot of value to your card. One oft-overlooked benefit available to many Visa cardholders is the Visa concierge.
Credit card concierges are like free personal assistants. They can help you with all kinds of things, saving you time and, sometimes, money. Many premium credit cards come with some kind of concierge service, including most of the best travel rewards credit cards.
Keep in mind credit card concierges are not customer service agents. Your Visa concierge can't help you with Visa card billing issues or dealing with card fraud. So, what can they do? Read on for more details.
You can find all types of credit cards with concierge service. Most Visa credit cards with Visa Infinite or Visa Signature logos will have access to their respective Visa concierge service.
You can see which type of Visa card you have by looking for the Visa logo in the lower right-hand corner of your card. The logo will read "Visa," "Visa Signature," or "Visa Infinite."
Although there are many Visa Infinite credit cards around the world, U.S. consumers only have access to a few select travel cards listed here:

Visa concierge agents can perform a range of tasks to help you both at home and while traveling. Your Visa concierge can:
These days, it's fairly easy to do many of these things yourself -- especially if you're good with a search engine. But a Visa concierge can also help you save time. Sure, you could spend several hours researching the best way to travel from Boston to New York. Or, you can ask the Visa concierge to offer recommendations. The concierge can even help you book your travel.
Moreover, concierges often have connections the typical consumer lacks. We've found countless anecdotes about how a credit card concierge was able to secure a reservation to an unbookable restaurant or sold-out show. Not bad for a perk that comes free with your credit cards.

Visa credit cards have three benefit tiers:
The standard Visa tier has the fewest benefits, while the Visa Infinite tier has the most benefits. Both the Visa Signature and Visa Infinite tiers offer concierge services as a benefit -- each with its own dedicated phone number.
When choosing a card, don't worry about the type of concierge service you'll get. While they have separate phone numbers, both Visa Signature and Visa Infinite concierges will offer the same services. You can make all the same requests, including booking dining and travel reservations.
However, Visa Infinite cardholders have access to perks that Visa Signature cards lack. This includes certain special events and experiences. As such, the Visa Infinite Concierge may offer more options for certain requests than their Visa Signature counterparts.

You can contact the Visa concierge by phone or by email. The number you call will depend on the type of Visa card you own.
To use the Visa Infinite Concierge service, you can call: 1-877-587-2700
To use the Visa Signature Concierge service, you can call: 1-800-953-7392
To access Visa concierge services online, you'll need to register through the Visa Digital Concierge website.
Once you're in touch with a concierge agent, you can make your request. You can ask broad questions -- "What are some great restaurants in London?" -- or get more specific: "What is the best place for fish and chips in London?" The more detail you provide in your request, the better the service you'll likely get.
The amount of time it takes for the concierge to complete your request will depend on how complex it is. Simple requests can often be completed right away. For example, booking reservations at a restaurant.
According to Visa, most requests can be completed within 24 to 48 hours.
More complicated requests could take a few days or more. If you want help planning a 10-day trip across Europe, for instance, you could wait a while for a full response. The more research it takes -- or the more bookings the agent must make -- the longer it will take to complete your request.
There is no fee for using the Visa concierge. That said, you will have to pay for any purchases made on your behalf. For instance, if the concierge books you a flight or hotel room, the charges will be posted to your Visa credit card.

Visa Signature credit cards are far more common in the U.S., including many of our favorite rewards credit cards:
You can verify your Visa card has concierge access by checking your card's benefits page. Most issuers provide a list of card benefits through your online account or mobile app.
