7 Best Black Friday TV Deals

Black Friday is all about scoring big deals -- the bigger, the better. Given the cost of a new television, few deals will be bigger than those on TVs. Here's a look at some of the best Black Friday TV deals from seven popular retailers.

1. Best Buy TV deals

Best Buy Black Friday deals run through Saturday, Nov. 25.

Walmart Black Friday deals run through Sunday, Nov. 26.

Samsung Black Friday deals end bright and early Monday (Nov. 27) morning.

6. Sam's Club TV deals

A Sam's Club membership costs $50 a year, so if you don't already have one, make sure you include that cost in your calculations. Some of Sam's Club's Black Friday deals are actually the same discounts you can get at other retailers, so comparison shop before deciding where to buy, especially if you're not currently a member.

7. Costco TV deals

Costco actually makes it hard to see what sorts of discounts you're getting since it doesn't seem to list regular prices on Black Friday TV deals. Additionally, I did see some Black Friday discounts that were the same at other retailers. Make sure you compare prices for the specific models you're interested in to see if you're really scoring a deal. And make sure you figure in the membership fee if you're not already a member.

A few TV-buying tips

Hopefully we all stick to the golden rule of: Compare Prices on Everything All the Time. In addition, here are a few tips specific to shopping for a new TV on Black Friday:

• OLED is better for picture quality, QLED is better for price.
• Beware models made specifically for Black Friday (without previous prices, reviews, etc), as they can be subpar in quality.
• Use a credit card with extended warranty protection so you can skip pricey store warranties.
• Maximize your credit card rewards by choosing the best card for each retailer. (Remember that Costco only accepts Visa credit cards in the warehouse, and Visa and Mastercard online.)

Sharing some TV time can be a great family activity, especially when winter weather makes inside play advisable. And it's how many of us unwind at the end of the day. So it makes sense you want to buy a nice TV -- but that doesn't mean you have to break the bank to do it.
