Amazon Prime Members Can Now Get Free Same-Day Delivery From Some Local Stores

This perk could help you save time and money while supporting local businesses.

Amazon regularly adds new perks to its Amazon Prime membership to provide more value to its members. The brand announced a new service available in select areas of the U.S. Prime members can now get free same-day delivery from some local stores.

Amazon can be a convenient place to get household essentials, toiletries, clothing, accessories, and other everyday purchases. Prime members enjoy access to free, two-day shipping when they order through the website or app.

But some Prime members will be able to take advantage of same-day delivery from non-Amazon retailers in their area.

For now, the benefit will be available in select U.S. metro areas. Is this a benefit that you will use?

Amazon introduces same-day delivery from local retailers

Amazon Prime members can now shop from some of their favorite retailers and get same-day delivery if they reside in a participating city. Current retailers partnering with Amazon include PacSun, GNC, SuperDry, and Diesel.

At this time, Prime members with zip codes in and around Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Las Vegas, Miami, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Seattle, and Washington D.C. can take advantage of this new shopping perk.

Shoppers can order from these retailers through the Amazon website or app and select same-day delivery to their homes. Once an order is placed, a local retail associate will prepare it, and an Amazon delivery partner will pick up the order and deliver it on the same day.

Some retailers may also give shoppers the option to order through Amazon and pick up their items in-store on the same day.

This service will be free for Amazon Prime members who spend $25 or more on participating items. For members who spend less, a $2.99 delivery fee will apply.

Amazon plans to partner with additional retailers in the future. Sur La Table and 100% Pure are two brands that will be joining the service in the upcoming months.

This perk adds more value to a Prime membership

Shoppers will likely see this new service as a valuable benefit -- especially if they prefer to avoid shopping in person and value fast delivery speeds.

Earlier in 2022, Amazon raised the price of a yearly Amazon Prime membership from $119 to $139. Members had to decide if the benefits were still worth the price increase.

Since that time, the brand has added additional perks. Most recently, Amazon partnered with GrubHub to offer Prime members a free year of Grubhub+.

Same-day delivery from participating local retailers is the latest offering that Amazon has granted to Prime members.
