KEY POINTS

  • Amazon will host its first Big Spring Sale this March, and new deals will drop each day during the six-day event.
  • All shoppers, even those who aren't Prime members, can score deals from March 20 to March 25.
  • If you have a Prime membership, there will be member-exclusive deals for you to shop.

If you're a big fan of Amazon's Prime Day sales, you will want to know about this news. The online retailer has announced a spring Prime-Day-like event that could help shoppers keep more money in the bank. Even better, you can shop the sale without being a Prime member. Here's what you need to know about the event that will run from March 20 to March 25, 2024.

Introducing Amazon's Big Spring Sale

Amazon will host its first-ever Big Spring Sale later this month. The six-day shopping event will start on March 20 and run through March 25. Shoppers can score deals on seasonal finds. On each day of the sale, Amazon will release new deals.

Here's a sampling of some of the discounts that will be available during the Big Spring Sale:

  • Up to 50% off select beauty products
  • Up to 40% off select electronics
  • Up to 40% off select spring apparel
  • Up to 50% off sports and outdoor equipment

If you've been meaning to buy essentials in any of these shopping categories, you may want to take a peek at the deals during the shopping event.

But remember, just because something is on sale doesn't mean it's worthwhile. It's wise to make a list of what you intend to buy before you shop. You should only spend what you can afford to avoid racking up credit card debt.

The Big Spring Sale is open to all shoppers, even non-Prime members. However, Prime members will have access to member-exclusive deals throughout the event. To shop the sale, visit amazon.com/bigspringsale starting on March 20.

Is an Amazon Prime membership worth it?

Many shoppers get value by joining Amazon Prime. But it's not the right fit for everyone. If you frequently shop online and could benefit from fast, free shipping, you may want to join. But you'll pay $14.99 a month or $139 a year for the privilege of being a Prime member.

Before joining, consider whether you'll use the Prime membership perks. If you haven't shopped on Amazon.com recently, reviewing current product offerings is a good idea. If the everyday essentials that you purchase are sold on Amazon or there are equivalent alternatives, you may benefit from investing in a Prime membership.

Alternatives to an Amazon Prime membership

Not a Prime fan? There are other shopping memberships to consider. Here are two shopping subscription alternatives that could help you save money.

Walmart+

Walmart+ members get free same-day grocery delivery on orders of at least $35 and free shipping on eligible orders with no minimum purchase requirements. Subscribers also get fuel discounts and complimentary access to Paramount+ Essentials. An annual Walmart+ subscription costs $98.

Target Circle 360

Target recently announced that on April 7, it will launch a new paid subscription called Target Circle 360. It will provide free, two-day shipping on eligible orders and free, same-day delivery on orders of $35 and up. The subscription costs $99 a year to join, but a $49 one-year discounted membership will be available to those with a Target RedCard through May 18.

If you regularly shop at either of these popular retailers, you may want to consider becoming a paid subscriber to access benefits that can save you time and money.
